Night &

Light Painting

(1984 -  )

The camera be it film or digital can see much of what our eyes cannot. Long exposures can see into the darkness. During those exposures light can be added in a fashion impossible in the real world. This has been a rich seam of imagery that I have mined off and on for a long time. Practice helped immensely in the days of film where the world was as if a print to be dodged and burned in the darkroom with often unforgiving results. This section starts with images made on film. Super Rides and others further down the list were done digitally, a much more forgiving technique. Also see the Alhambra Farewell series.
